Sometimes, God asks us to do something.
He doesn’t ask us to do it right.
He doesn’t ask us to do it great.
But He does ask us to try.
Sometimes, the Lord will ask us to GO.
He doesn’t always tell us where.
He doesn’t always give us a map.
But He does ask us to start walking.
Sometimes, the Lord will ask us to stay.
He doesn’t always tell us why.
He doesn’t always tell us how long.
But He does ask us to be still.
Sometimes, the Lord says ‘lay it down’.
He doesn’t ask for some.
He doesn’t tear it from your arms.
But He does ask for surrender.
There are things the Lord asks of us.
…are we willing to surrender them?
There are things the Lord would seek to change in us.
…are we willing to let Him?
There are things the Lord wants from us.
…are we willing to offer them to Him?
He doesn’t ask for perfection and He certainly doesn’t ask for us to do it on our own. The minute you recognize what filth needs to be dealt with or what way He is calling you…and look at Him and say “Lord, I can’t…” know that that is the moment where He will step in and say “I know…let Me.”
He wants our all.
We have nothing to give Him.
He knows that.
Do you?
“Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.In God (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?” Psalm 56:3-4

oh my dang. this is SO good.
"we have nothing to give Him" -- wow, what a perspective-change. it so often feels like i'm being called to give Him (or give up) so much. but you're right. i really have nothing to give Him anyway. and everything to gain.
Beautiful. Convicting. Encouraging.
Thank you buddy.
Amen. love you sister.
Hi! You don't know me, but I found your blog through some blog-hopping today and my heart is just so encouraged by these words!
I am going to be participating in a women's retreat with my church next month and I was wondering if I would be able to share this passage with the women in attendance. I know it would really lift them up.
Could you please let me know by either clicking to my blog and leaving a comment, or by sending me an email, sldane at hotmail dot com? I won't use your passage without permission.
Thank you and God bless!
Shannon
